Today, we decided not to do the sensible thing, which was to stay at home and work on the garden. Instead we went out for a trip to Southwold. We have been here many a time and the children do not seem to mind the drive there, as now they have control over the music that we listen to.
Once there, we were lucky to find a parking space, but it was a bit colder than we had expected. After some time on the pier where he had some lunch, enjoyed the sun, and gazed at the sea, it was a walk into town. My son was amazing as he was willing to walk quite fast, though this was related to Pokémon Go. This has been amazing for him when it comes to exercise and I have to say I was impressed with his endurance.
After that it was a drive home where my wife fed us some amazing pasta and we snuggled up on the sofa to watch a film.
A blog mostly about my family. Though I also rant about other things, work, music, films etc.

Southwold in February half term
Thanks to the visit of my mother, my wife and I were able to go out for Valentines day. Her knee has improved to the point where we were able to walk to have a great meal. One where I tried squid again. And whereas I hated it before, I have to say I sort of liked it. I doubt that I would make a choice to eat it from a menu again, but it something I would eat, possibly, in the future. But it was great to be able to eat out, and while we love our children, having quality time together is very important.
Thursday involved a late meeting at work which mean that I was not able to watch the Arsenal match. I was nervous before it as our opponents had beaten quality opposition before, but needless to say, I had nothing to be concerned about. Some have commented that Arsenal can win the competition, which is true, but our away form is something to be concerned about in general.
But today, was a trip for all of us. My mother had been dropped in London yesterday and the kids got to have a trip to Southwold which they liked. They love the pier there, and today we ate in the Crown. We have eaten here in the past, and before children, even stayed here one night. The food as always was amazing, the kids absolutely loved the prawn burger that my daughter ordered, something that my wife tried as well We enjoyed the pier while my wife browsed the shops and later, after collecting her, had tea there before heading back home.
Anyway, it is almost time for bed again, and here are the pictures my daughter took today.

It's six months ago today that my pet snail walked out on me. I was gutted. I'd go after him but it's too late. He'll be at the bus stop by now.
Well, this week was a landmark in that I squashed my first snail of the year. Our front garden attracts them and normally, later in the year, I find loads on the path. As I walk to the door at night, there is the sound and feel of dead snails as I unintentionally crush their shells. I do my best when I know that they are lining up to die to avoid them, but sometimes I forget. And this week, I was not expecting one to be out. Mind you, I am sure one of the local birds appreciated it come the morning!
On the weekend we travelled to Southwold, one of our favourite destinations and we all loved it. My daughter and I took a longer walk as my son does not walk as fast as she does. The top photo is of a sandcastle that we found my daughter taking that as well as the picture of the cannons. My son took the picture of the pier and I promised to post them on the blog. As they have in the past
But, since then, my daughter has had a painful foot. Wednesday involved a trip to the doctors as my daughter who had been to school the previous day was finding it too hard to walk. After that, a trip to the hospital for her first ever x-ray but after that, while there was no fracture, she had to rest. Hopefully she will be able to walk more tomorrow, but I suspect that if she feels she can, she will be running. While she has had to stay at home, my son has been going into school and I have been told that he does not like it as much if she is not there. We are lucky to have such wonderful kids. Anyway, good night again and I hope you like the two songs.
