GP opening hours are in the news again. The Guardian have published an article stating that GP's are not keen on the idea of opening eight till eight seven days a week. Strange that. Well, I live in Colchester and we have access to a surgery that is open from seven in the morning till ten at night seven days a week.
Despite the North Colchester Healthcare Centre covering all of Colchester, even though it has good ratings on the NHS choices website, it does not have that many patients registered there. One could argue that this is proof, that in Colchester at least, such extended hours are not needed. With all the pressures being put on GP's in the UK, is it any wonder that more and more are leaving the country?
