Families affected by the Hillsborough disaster where helped by the UK signing up to the ECHR. Is Farage right to want to leave it?

Nigel Farage, along with other politicians, want us to have less human rights than those in Europe.  The ECHR has been used to win cases for those seeking justice. The Hillsborough families were able to get justice because of our membership of the court.

I like having human rights.  I do not want to have more human rights when on holiday in France, Italy or Spain than I have living in the UK.  I do think it needs reform, but that is best done with other members of the court, not by leaving it.

Farage brought about Brexit, which has damaged our nation.  He should not be allowed to harm our great country again.

Farage, making excuses for Russia and how he admires Putin

Anyone who follows my blog will have worked out that I am not a fan of Nigel Farage. I think that Brexit has harmed our nation, so much so, that most political parties in Europe who wanted to leave the EU, seeing the damage it has caused the UK, have dropped this idea. Sadly, it looks like the man who sold us Brexit will be our next Prime Minister.

But, it looks as if Russia will be pleased if that happens. James O’Brien on LBC has spoken really well on this issue about his former colleague and there is a great video detailing how Nigel Farage appears to have made excuses for Russia and Putin.  To be fair, many on the left have said similar things, but those on the left who did so, do not have a colleague has pleaded guilty to bribery charges relating to statements in favour of Russia in the European parliament.

Taking on Reform UK

Reform UK have done really well in the local elections. I think that they are there because they have not been challenged in the correct manner. Some arguments are valid, notably the scrapping of winter fuel payments which have driven people away from Labour. Other methods, notably calling Reform voters racist and thick, are wrong.

Labour have taken decisions that I think are wrong, another example being the rise in National Insurance which will harm the economic growth our nation needs. Labour has also alienated core supporters with some actions, such as cuts to foreign aid and the rising number of people being removed from the country. An example of how supporters are losing faith with Labour is with the recent changes to immigration. Labour have a hard time getting the publicity they need to make people aware of this, but one way to get that spotlight is to debate such matters with those who are more left wing. Doing so on channels like Novara Media will mean that more mainstream news channels might be willing to debate the issues.

Brexit has failed our nation. We need to remind people of that. The best way of doing so is giving ownership of it to Farage. Farage wants a free trade deal with the USA which will harm UK farming. He needs to be challenged on that. Farage wants to alienate France by dumping migrants back on French soil. That will have consequences and Farage needs to be asked how he would deal with them. There is the NHS and how Farage wants to change it so that poorer people get worse care. Again, he should be challenged on that. Finally are his policies on the economy. “Today was the best Conservative budget since 1986.” That was what he tweeted to describe the disastrous budget of Liz Truss

In summary, Labour need to debate some issues with the left in a public forum, they need to point out the further harm Farage will cause to our great nation if he takes power and Labour needs to shout out about how things like NHS waiting lists are falling and how potholes are being repaired nationwide

Brexit is failing the UK

Those who have read my blog may be aware about my views on the insanity that is Brexit.  We have seen how many Eurosceptic parties in EU nations have no longer advocated leaving the EU, or are a lot quieter about it, since they have seen how Brexit has harmed the UK.  The reason for this post is that I was watching this video and thought that it needed to be shared.  That and we need a reminder about Farage told about how we could have a deal like Norway or Switzerland as he is now telling lies that he never said such a thing.
