Did you hear about the lion who ate his whole family? He swallowed his pride!

Evening all again.  It has been a nice day today.  As usual, I worked yesterday.  Today, my wife arranged for us to go out.

So, after feeding the kids (I burnt the bacon) we went out for a drive to Southwold.  My wife loves one of the bookshops there.  Anyway, it was an interesting drive there, as I had to take the same route to my old work.  Despite leaving seven months ago, I have not been back there.  Well, as I passed the road to my old work, I did have a sense of freedom.  I am not sure if this was because I was going up the coast, a trip I loved, or because I feel a lot better since I have left my work.

Do not get me wrong, I enjoyed working there, I was there for eight years after all, but the job, and to be fair, I, changed.  I do feel sorry that I have not been there since leaving.  But to be fair, I just have not had the time!  Although I am working closer to home, and feel that I am in a better place, I am working much harder than I did before.  Which has meant that I literally have not had the time to pop into my old place.

Anyway, it was great going to Southwold.  We used to live closer to it, and the last time we were there, it was when it was just three of us, i.e. before my son was born.  While my wife was in the shop, I took the kids to the beach.  Of course, we went to the bookshop first.  Obviously it has changed since we were there last.  But the beach is the same as it was, that does not get to change!  Well, they loved the beach, not that we got to spend that much time there, nor did we go to the pier.  And then once we had finished we drove of to Aldeburgh.  It did bring back memories of taking my youngest brother to see the nuclear power stations at Sizewell, back in the days when you could visit a nuclear power station.  (So far, we are not glowing green.)  Anyway, when in the town, we ended up eating at the Lighthouse.  A restaurant that my wife had tried to book a table at back when we lived closer to it.  Well, afterwards, it was a trip to the seaside.  We had promised the kids ice cream you see.  Well, while we were having ice cream, by the sea, well near it, we had a surprise.  At the shop we went to (or rather the stall) was near a artificial boating pond which was also very near the house where Grandpa in my Pocket is filmed.  My daughter wanted to go in it, but that is not an option for now.  She does love watching it.  After spending time at the sea, we came back home.  Not enough time for me, I do find it very relaxing being there, but it was very very cold.  It was warmer in Southwold, but parking is a bit harder there.  Anyway, I guess we might be going back to the sea more often as it gets warmer.
